A Damp Squib

We harvested the last of our grapes today: the late-ripening Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and the Cabernet Sauvignon, all from the deeper soils. It has been alarming to see baumés fall this year due to the amount of rain that has fallen. It is fair to say that although we will have some good wines from the start of vintage, the end of vintage 2014 has been a damp squib!
